Lake Elaine Dewatering and Fish Removal
Project: Lake Elaine Dewatering and Fish Removal
Client Name: Continental Country Club via Terracon
Key Personnel: Ricardo Aguirre – Project Manager
Project Description: The lake dewatering and fish removal tasks of this project were a part of the overall planned restoration of Lake Elaine located at the Continental Country Club in Flagstaff, Arizona. The overall objective of the project is to either restore or replace the existing lake liner system, which has been determined to be beyond its life expectancy. HELM developed options to offer creative solutions that considered both the lake water and fish as a usable resource. HELM recommended that the existing water in Lake Elaine be pumped via a temporary system from Lake Elaine back to another downstream lake used for golf course irrigation. HELM also recommended various methods for fish disposal, which included burying the fish as a fertilizer to landscape amenities throughout the golf course country club.
